MP3 Of The Moment: Papercuts Re-record “Future Primitive” For Sabina

As mentioned in this post the other day, “Future Primitive” by the band Papercuts was a favorite tune of Sabina Rose O’Donnell, and in one of the nicer things we’ve seen anyone do lately, Papercuts dude Jason Quever re-recorded an acoustic version of the song for Sabina. You can download it here, and we imagine it will be played at Sabina’s memorial, set to begin in Northern Liberties at Liberty Lands in just a few minutes. Said Jason in an email to our friend Tommy Up:

“i did it hoping that it might bring some small amount of peace and perspective. sabina sounds like someone i would have really adored. though she had such an unjust end of her life, i believe the cs lewis quote, that our souls live on, and that the pain she endured is a small fraction of her journey.

again i am so touched that i could help in any way, and im praying for anyone affected by this madness. i often tell myself that 99.9% of human interaction is peaceful, but its so easy to forget that in the face of violence. we really know so little about the meaning of it all, our life here, we need to try not to let such events cloud our efforts to add positivity into the world. i think what you are doing with the celebration of her life is an amazing way to turn this into something positive!

please keep in touch and let me know how everything goes, and of course i will be following the news, and my thoughts will be with her loved ones. in fact, i can’t imagine playing that song again without thinking of sabina for now on.”

Once again, our heartfelt condolences and all the love in the world go out to Sabina’s friends and family at this very difficult time.
