UPDATE: The Trestle Inn Is Almost Done Burning


Reader Sara snapped this on the way to her studio. Check these images on Philly Fire News. It looks like it’s under control at this point, but Vox Populi, Print Liberation, and several smaller artist studios are just 2-3 doors south of there at 319 North 11th Street, so here’s hoping there’s no smoke damage to any of the goods in those spaces. Keep us posted in comments if anyone knows anything further.

    I work downwind of the Trestle, near Franklin Square, and my co-workers and I have determined that it doesn’t smell like a building fire – it smells more like a wet-wood campfire. A sweet and mellow smell with which we associate marshmallows and graham crackers. I hope the Trestle was that kind of place. Never been there, myself.
