Corbett: Demanding My Resignation Is Criminal!
So, hey, remember when we told you a little while ago that maybe asking Tom Corbett to resign on account of multiple shenanigans might be a good thing to do? Yeah, well, here’s a shocker: Corbett doesn’t think so. Nevertheless, the movement to demand the PA Attorney General’s resignation is gaining steam. Yesterday, Keystone Progress held a news conference on the matter, joined by progressive leaders and good government reform groups; in an email follow-up, KP declared a victory for the day, citing good coverage and a hint that “some major newspapers will soon be joining us in our call for Corbett’s resignation.” As for Corbett hisself? Not as stoked. Reached for a statement on the matter, Corbett’s spokeperson simply said: “It appears that these groups have joined the chorus of criminal defendants who have been charged with political corruption.” Translation: “Hey world! Maybe I am not the criminal here! Maybe MY ACCUSERS are the criminals! Hey, did you ever think about THAT?” Translation of the translation: “Hi, my name is Tom, and I’m toast.”
