Film Sweat: Feed Your Head
RECOMMENDED: The Times says “meh,” fans are crying foul and mostly, we’re just worried about CGItis (the foul curse that’s turning many major motion pictures into video games), but none of this will sully the curiosity surrounding Tim Burton’s tacky goth take on Alice In Wonderland. In Burton’s remix, Alice, played all wooden-like by Mia Wasikowska, is 19 and revisiting Wonderland for the first time since she was 7. Johnny Depp, of course, is The Mad Hatter, and proud we all are of him for yet another magnificent transformation into a dastardly dandy. Meanwhile, very weird things are happening with Helena Bonham Carter‘s head, and for as much as Burton seems to be screaming at us, “TAKE DRUGS THEN GO SEE THIS MOVIE,” we really kinda don’t want to. It might be a bad trip.
ALSO NEW IN THEATERS: Brooklyn’s Finest, a cop drama with Richard Gere, Don Cheadle, Ethan Hawke, Wesley Snipes, Will Patton and Lili Taylor; and Mr. Hulot’s Holiday, the 1954 Jaques Tati classic, in revival.

What’s with Alice being 19 in this movie? Totally negates the perv angle. They (pervs) say it’s the biggest letdown since Kubrick’s film of Lolita.
