Eagles Cut Westbrook; Philebrity Shrugs Some organization called the Philadelphia Eagles has dismissed some football player called Brian Westbrook. Seeing as how we’d eventually like to see no football whatsoever in the City of Philadelphia, we’re just gonna have to guess that is a step in the right direction. actual content comment-wise, it’s time for him to retire and for the Eagles to move on

@ggliwa: Nice to see you on here not spitting up blood over something about Fishtown. As for the rise thing, well duh: Of course. But regular readers will also know that this a belief I actually hold. Football is beneath all of us. And the Eagles? Come on.

Both Westbrook getting cut and tips take on it are a pitty, but understandable. Westbrook has gotten old and hurt too much, and there’s only so much bonerjuice tips can get out of Werth’s beard without resorting to a certain amount of green and white hate to keep the blood pumping until April.

I know we shouldn’t take stuff you post about sports seriously (for instance, constantly ragging on one of exactly 2 World Series MVPs to ever suit up in this town because your sports attention span doesn’t stretch much past the last game you watched), but come on dude, Brian Westbrook was so amazingly great you should show him some respect on the day he is let go by the team he has played his whole career with.

Joey, I know you don’t watch football but Mr. Westbrook is one of few class acts in the NFL. A smart, passionate player that’ll truly be missed the fans of this organization.

I hate football with the white hot heat of a thousand suns, but Westbrook does seem to be a real class act. I wish he’d retire… Brain injuries don’t fuck around, and I would hate to see him pay, and pay badly, 20 years from now.
Also, Villanova has never helped anybody’s rep. THE HAWK WILL NEVER DIE! (sorry)

@Patricio Yes, a real class act, and Philadelphia will honor him by rubbing dirt in his eyes and throwing rotten fish at him or some other real nice thing the next time Phila plays Oakland (does that ever happen?). Philadelphia doesn’t deserve a football team.
