Readers Cameraphone: For The Love Of Cripes, Philadelphia Parking Authority, Where Does It End With You?

And what kind of self-heating cyborg metermaid have you freaks created to issue tickets in the snow?

Seeing something around town of note? Cameraphone it to: tips[at]philebrity[dot]com.

  1. mazza313 Says:

if you look at it, the ticket was inserted before the snow; there is no disturbance to the layer. picking on the ppa when they haven’t actually done anything wrong reduces our right to bitch when they are actually being pricks.

  2. Black (jack) Taco the Eviscerator! Says:

Possibly mazza313, but it could also have been put on while it was snowing. The amount that came down would cover up any disturbance made early on.

All that said, we have no idea what the situation was with this vehicle. If it’s, say, double parked on an “emergency essential” route, thus possibly seriously fucking with police or ambulances (I heard an ambo this morning in South Philly having a real hard time of it, and saw some busses stop several blocks of traffic, both situations because someone ditched their vehicles in the snow where they shouldn’t have).

Personally the PPA and city should have some sort of snow emergency system where they roam certain critical streets and intersections with tow trucks. Left your car at the no parking point of an intersection, destroying sightlines and creating a hazard for the wider turning radius some drivers need to make it around an icy corner, fuck you, you’re towed.

I don’t drive much myself, and from that perspective I just don’t get Philebrity’s perspective on the PPA sometimes, since it too is steered by even less of a driver than I am.
