Here’s how it goes down: While you’re still at work, the kitchen will be slowly, carefully putting together Phoodie.info’s Official Grog Recipe in a large pot; just before you arrive, it will be transferred into warming pots near the bar and LOADED WITH RUM. Sweeney will show up (late, harried), commandeer the sound system, and start playing Nick Drake and Grateful Dead and Emmitt Rhodes records. Friends will hug. Happy tymes will ensue. And by the time Maddow comes on, you will be a warm, translucent mess. It’s the most fun you can have with the dead of January. The only thing left to do is to make more of the stuff.
