Bridge And Ritz 16 Change Hands, Movie Biz Continues Its Slow, Weird Death

bridge11Here’s a little News of Whatever for you: On Christmas Eve, the story quietly broke that both The Bridge Cinema in West Philly (that’s the one with the crazy spaceship seats and nacho smell) and the RC Ritz Center 16 in Voorhees, N.J. (that’s the one that people talk about when talking about how South Jersey isn’t that bad) were sold to a national company called Rave Cinemas. Best we can tell, Landmark Cinemas still own the Ritzes in Philly, and details on changes to the Bridge or Ritz 16 are super-scant.

There’s a Rave out near where my parents live outside Allentown, and that’s a really, really nice theater.
