And amc####, we were also considering 09 age, facial hair and names translated into english. Don’t leave those out. But considering careerwise that Feliz hits a few more HRs and knocks in a few more runs, I don’t see that much of a diff

Agreed, LB, Feliz may have excelled @3B, but again, it’s about the BATS- and hey, it’s a done deal. Also agreed, Vic belongs at the top of the lineup, but that possibly bumping him to #7 scenario came from the Phils. All speculative anyhoo, Cholly plays em based on their performance at the plate- we’ll see how Pablo does. Bienvenido de vuelta!

Peaceful Polanco can also slide over to 2B, letting the Phils give The King of The White Girls an occasional day off and giving Dobbs some starts.

The more important question is what they do with the money saved by getting Polanco instead of Beltre or Figgins. If they spend that on the bullpen, then it’s worth it.

And moving Victorino down to the 7 spot, with much better stats and better speed than Polanco (nottomention being 5 years younger), is insane. Despite some odd sports reporting along those lines, I think that isn’t very likely. Its a better argument to move Rollins down and lead Victorino off.

2b ain’t 3b. 2 guys in the majors had more total chances at 3b than Feliz in 09, and they had 17 and 20 errors. His fielding percentage was .966 and at 3b, only 6 thousandths of a percent from second in the NL (and the leader had only 311 total chances vs Feliz’s 437).

We’ll all be happy if Easygoin Polanco can match those numbers at 3b. He’ll have to step it up to beat them.

Not so, LB. Phils made no bones about wanting a better bat at 3B and Polanco’s .348 OBP vs. Feliz’ .294 makes a big difference at the #2 slot in the lineup, Victorino @ #7 advances/scores Ibanez/Werth/Howard; Feliz hit .167 in the postseason. Polanco’s 1 SO for 17.5 plate appearances is second best in the majors. Feliz grew into a great defensive player @3B, but 15 errors? Polanco’s two Golden Gloves are nuthin to sneeze at. The money’s about even, but they went with what they thought was a better investment over the next three years. Besides, Ibanez gave him the hard sell and we know how he worked out. Though, I will miss hearing “Feliz [Navidad]” over the PA when he got a hit- made me smile every time.
