This Evening: Fall In Bloom

>>> Kath Bloom is about as real as dyed-in-the-wool old-style freak-folkers get. That’s her (and about 20 of her closest musician friends) in the video above, belting out “Something To Tell You.” Tonight, Bloom plays an ultra-rare — first-ever? — show at Silk City with Meg Baird of Espers. Baird appeared on Loving Takes This Course: A Tribute to the Songs of Kath Bloom earlier this year, and so did Devendra Banhart, who’s also in town. Banhart’s show, previously scheduled at the Electric Factory, has been moved to the TLA tonight. And, as we mentioned earlier, Philebrity Salon @ 700 salutes the soundtracks of Wes Anderson tonight. Either way, it’s acoustic guitars and warm vibes for you tonight. Aw c’mon and give us a hug already. You know what we’re thankful for this year? You, baby. You.

Her songs are great; her voice is painfully bad. She opened for Mark Kozelek at First Unitarian awhile back.

i found her annoying at Kozelek’s show. her new record is coming out on his label.
