As you may have read, a suspect was arrested in Philadelphia on Saturday after trying to purchase enough missiles and machine guns to take down, well, a lot of things. It was all part of a sting that began way back in ‘07, in which a Philly-based FBI agent began a relationship with a Lebanese/Slovakian fencing ring which, for the longest time, dealt mainly in cell phones and Playstation2s. As these things do, however, the requests for other kinds of merchandise — which the suspect said would be used for “The Resistance” — escalated from things which you could use to pretend you were a killing machine to things you could use to actually become a killing machine. Silly rabbit: If You Don’t Mess With The Zohan taught us anything, it’s that Electronics Store is Dream Killer. Sigh.
