This Evening: There’s A Kind Of Hush All Over The World Tonight

>>> What could possibly top this gorgeous Indian Summer day? Look up tonight for the The 2009 Leonid Meteor Shower. It’s going to be nuts: NASA is predicting 20 to 30 meteors per hour over the Americas, and as many as 200 to 300 per hour over Asia, and lucky you, it’s looking like it’s gonna be a pretty clear night. Autumn, come closer. I think I love you.
>>> Elsewhere: Adam Arcuragi checks in at North Star Bar, Shonen Knife plays JB’s, and the new version of The Prisoner — with Sir Ian McKellen and no one else nearly as awesome as Sir Ian McKellen — premieres on AMC.

Premiere of The Prisoner was last night, episodes 1 & 2. Episodes 3 & 4 air tonight. It was quite good, I thought – very David Lynchy. And Sir Ian McKellen was more creepy and awesome than I could have predicted.

Thanks for the meteor shower tip! We were fortunate to see the Leonid shower back in 1999 in the middle of the Arizona Desert. Once in a lifetime, amazing show.

Is there anywhere in Philly or nearby where it will be possible to see the shower?

Internal alarm woke me up at 3:15 am. Unfortunately, it was cloudy at the Jersey Shore. Oh well.
We got to see the percids from the three sisters mountains in oregon in the early 90s. Unreal.
