Rumor Control: Is Your Entire Pre-High School Record Collection Secretly Playing At The Spectrum Tomorrow Night?

Try calling around, attempting to confirm that Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Chris Cornell and the guitarist from Alice In Chains (whoever the hell that is) are all going to be semi-”secretly” joining Pearl Jam onstage at the Spectrum tomorrow night for an all-star jam, immediately following the band’s set. From what we hear, 610 WIP, always your source for rock news, says it’s on; Live Nation reps in Philly say they have no idea if it’s true or not; still other industry peeps we’ve spoken with say that yes, this is indeed the case. If all of this is true, we have one question: Can we please, please, please have Cocaine Joel (see video at right) as opposed to, say, Old Cranky Drunk Joel? C’mon. Just once, for old time’s sake.
