Everybody, this is Malcolm Washington. Malcolm is a freshman at University of Pennsylvania and has just joined the Quakers Basketball team as a walk on. Malcolm is also the son of some guy named Denzel Washington, who made a movie or something here one time, thereby imbuing Malcolm, if he chooses to activate it, an actually sort-of earned sense of entitlement that most Penn Kids simply believe comes with the price of admission. Denzel, as it turns out, is also a rather proud and devoted basketball dad, so sightings of The Denz at The Palestra this year are certainly not improbable — in fact, the first home game is on November 21st against University of Delaware. The big question, though, is, “Does Malcolm have the goods?” If reports of his high school career are anything to go by, it would seem so.
