This Evening:
>>> It’s Tuesday, so it must be…

Tonight marks the return of barman Anders Larson, and he was kind enough to send us tonight’s cocktail menu. It is as follows:
NEGRONI: Welcome, Hearty Castillians, back to the Salon. Let us start with this, named after the Italian Count Negroni, who is famous only for this drink. As elegant a classic as the Jazz you are no doubt hearing spun: Gin, Italian Vermouth and Campari, lemon and orange twist.
BRANDY ALEXANDER: Living in this City of Governmental Incompetence, let us look back to that other era of Governmental Incompetence with this drink, ushered-in by the Fascistic 18th Amendment and The Volstead act: The Brandy Alexander. Organic Heavy Cream and Creme de Cacao, mixed with Brandy. Luxuriant and decadent, the way life ought to be. Refuse austerity!
RED HOOK: A lighter Manhattan variant, as burnished and beautiful as a crisp fall morning. Rye and Punt E Mes, a fluttering of bitters and a dash of Marischino.
STOUT SANGAREE: Easing to into this cold weather, we at The Salon offer you this hearty, warming seasonal delight: Young’s Double Chocolate (or, should you prefer, the dryer Beamish Irish) Stout, sweetened with sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. A float of Port to clarify the mind and fortify the nerves.
NEVINS: Hopefully named after an ingenious manservant of the Jeeves-type, this delightful evening’s libation is as dry and deep as your humble bartender is wet and shallow. Bourbon, Apricot Brandy, House-Pressed Grapefruit and Lemon juice to level it out, a dash of Bitters to spice it up. A favorite for tempting teetotalers, resulting in many threatening phonically the next day.
I’m drunk already: DJ Kyle Andrews will be taking it home tonight, as Sweeney stays in and wonders why every piece of technology at his disposal continues to break down.
>>> Or, elsewhere, consider Snacks at Woody’s with Mattie Safer from The Rapture, or, for a friends down in the AC area, Audrina Partridge is hanging out at Dusk, just waiting to field your questions with a series of “uhms” and “likes.” Upspeakers preferred.
