Dept. Of Rad: The Halloween Making Time @ 2424 Studios Promo Video
Starring Mike Z, being all “not like other guys,” and Spank Rock as a dancing Michael Jackson zombie. No, really. The Halloween Making Time Rager @ 2424 Studios will feature Simian Mobile Disco, a massive art installation by Jason Hackenwerth and, of course, Game 3 of the World Series projected in two different rooms. Are you guys going to even bother with real content anymore? I mean, I know it’s tough when you’re boycotting philly.com (and/or Inky, whatever), but it seems like half your posts are veiled advertisements for friends/contributors/yourselves. Worse yet, a significant portion of your real “content” amounts to limp-dick inside jokes with self-congratulatory labels like “meme.”
I think I get it… in exchange for giving credence to “black taco” you provide free exposure in the form of advertainment pieces.

That’s a long way around the block there, buddyboy.

Please excuse the hyperbole… but there’s some genuine criticism in there, sweetits. It’s just too close to the ‘hey look, someone used PHOTOSHOP to PARODY a popular image, can you imagine that?!?’ post that you did for Broadzilla.

Well, let’s clarify then: We’re directly involved in promoting this Making Time Halloween party. It’s in our building. Our logo is on the flyer. I don’t know if we could be more transparent about that.
On the other hand, we have no involvement whatsoever with Broadzilla, and in point of fact, only know one of the Broadzilla DJs personally and even then, only in passing. We’ve just been very entertained by their posters.
These facts and $5 should be able to get you into the Fugazi show of your choosing.

I’m not necessarily stressing that you’re not transparent; I guess you’ve already given yourselves a press release and the flyer is littered all over your page (though you would only know of this transparency if you read said press release as the smaller flyers do not include your logo; you made no mention of your sponsorship in the original post; you arrogantly assume that the readers care enough about your operation to know where you’re based and will therefore draw the connection beteen Philebrity and this event). I was merely pointing out that your blog has been sucking hard as of late. Whether or not you’re transparent regarding who benefits from the advertisement, I still find it annoying that you’re posting advertisements as the content wedged between advertisements.
That opinion and the time gained with lazy journalism should get you behind the turntables at another Belle & Sebastian party that will, no doubt, get five posts of its own.
