Dept. Of Old, Weird Blood: Dawn Stensland Out At Fox29, Dan Gross Makes Tippy-Toes Towards Mendte For The First Time In Forever

As evidenced by the Facebook grab above, Dawn Stensland is out at Fox29, and the People of the Faces are not happy! Bummer. One could guess that Stensland, who’s married to Larry Mendte, has had a rough few years, courtesy due mostly to her husband and Alycia Lane, who had that whole “I-spy-on-you/you-ruin-my-career” unpleasantness a few years back. Through it all, though, Stensland was one of the most congenial, un-stupid personalities on local TV, and Fox’s decision to pull her from the 10PM news and replace her with Kerri-Lee Halkett is kind of a dumb move. People can relate to Stensland (who hasn’t had a significant other driven to the brink of ruin by some low-level computer hacking, fueled by sexual and career-driven jealousy?); meanwhile, most of us remember Kerri-Lee as the awesome hot robot lady Daniel McQuade and a buddy built in their garage so everyone back at school would think they’re cool. (Oh no, wait: That’s Weird Science.) Perhaps strangest of all here is that Dan Gross — currently a defendant in Alycia Lane Vs. All Who Have Smited Me case, which is most likely derailed by the more pertinent The Inky And Daily News Have No Money case — is all over this story. Twice! Which is strange, when you consider that, oh, never mind, it’s just too big of a mess and this is about newscasters, whom nobody cares about anyway. Sorry, Dawn. Occupational hazard. May the road rise with you.

She’s got favorite charities based on the seasons? I work at a nonprofit – what do we have to do to sign up as a Winter charity?
