Homeless In LOVE Park Boldly Going Where No Cardboard Box Has Gone Before; Oh, No, Wait — That’s Just DesignPhiladelphia’s Welcome House

welcomehouse

Hey design nerds: DesignPhiladelphia — a seven-day festival of design-related exhibitions, workshops, studio tours, lectures and special events — officially kicked off at 9AM this morning, and there almost too many events to even comprehend. One of the more visible DesignPhiladelphia attractions, though, is The Welcome House, a 10’ x 10’ transparent cube where, each day, visiting artists will create new work based on their interaction with the public, outside of the cube. Today, there’s a day-long knitting performance by Eugenie Perret of Minima.

Can we get a rundown on the events that offend our shared intellectual and aesthetic heritage or whatever? I want to go to those first.

I have a hard time supporting this unless the knit items produced are donated to the homeless (being Love Park, should be easy enough).

please dont criticize this until you have seen it for yourself. i do agree with the comment about the homeless although there were not enough items for all of them, just a seat and a chair.
