Super-Sneaky Arts Tax Could Recast PA Budget Deal OR, Classical Gas!
Oh, hey, guess what? There are actually some Democrats in the PA House, and not only do they apparently have voices (news to us!), but they may actually have some balls, too. Proof: PA Dems are balking at the super-sneaky arts tax (which, we remind you, wouldn’t really change all that much, but whatever) and in turn, could wind up making everybody go back to the drawing board with the long-suffering PA budget. And if we had to guess, we’d say the Dems will get their wish, ending the nightmarish tide of panicked emails from literally every arts organization with a computer. But where will that money come from? Natural gas! I can tell from how you’re not wearing overalls that you don’t know that PA is having something of a natural gas boom right now, and there’s tons of good, easy money to tax right there so that PA politicians don’t have to have this whole anti-education thing hanging around their lily-white necks come next election. So, yeah! Natural gas! No dumb arts tax (which we could have all survived anyway)! Everybody! Stop emailing me! It’s all gonna be okay.
