The Design Center at Philadelphia University‘s “Lace In Translation” is an exhibition opening up later this week that makes use of the Design Center’s historic Quaker Lace Company collection. Three contributors — European designers Tord Boontje, Demakersvan, and Canadian artist Cal Lane — were commissioned to create site-specific installations, using the Quaker Lace Co. collection as inspiration, and exhibit them in the Design Center’s 1950s-era house. The results look pretty amazing. After the jump, a sneak peek at “Lace In Translation.” The show opens with a reception this Thursday, September 24 from 5 – 7:30 p.m. at 4200 Avenue.
