Joey Buttafuoco May Be Back on the Wagon, But That Doesn’t Mean You Can’t Fight A Sober Statutory Rapist

joey.insider305x465Remember Joey Buttafuoco? He was the thirty-six-year-old auto mechanic from Long Island who was having sex with the then-sixteen-year-old Amy Fisher. Amongst other things Amy went on to do (hardcore pornography, journalism), she shot Mary Jo Buttafuoco, Joey’s wife, in the face. Joey has had a rocky, unlucky history of arrests for a medley of offenses since, including soliciting a prostitute, auto insurance fraud, and possession of ammunition. (Proving the death of love, the Buttafuocos divorced in 2003.) He hosted “Let’s Talk Recovery,” a radio show dedicated to helping others cope with addiction (something he wasn’t caught for) and even wagged a generic, reprimanding finger at Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Britney Spears.
Why are we telling you this? Because surely, you must want to punch this man. So on Friday, November 20, you can have your chance to fight Joey officially at the Philadelphia Airport Ramada, where dreams are made real. The Celebrity Boxing Federation is currently accepting… applications (?) at celebrityboxing@gmail.com. It may just be utterly sad, as though you have been thrown in a ring to fight your recovered alcoholic uncle. But one caveat/lure: CBF fans may remember how he gave female ex-wrestler Chyna a black eye during a match in 2002 (he was supposed to fight John Wayne Bobbit, who couldn’t make the match because he had been arrested for domestic abuse). God willing, an interpid hipster in skinny jeans and a flannel will take him on, and you can witness it all unfold via tickets (800) 677-8499 or www.ticketlynx.com. Nothing is written about proceeds going to charity.
