We recently asked ourselves why Philadelphians seem so loyal to Ed Rendell when the rest of the state was shitting all over him re: budget issues, etc. Then, we saw this video today and we remembered why.

To be perfectly honest, we’re feeling torn about the whole Birther thing because, on the one hand, it makes us kinda sad.  Sad about the state of American political discourse, among other things, to the point that we are tempted to just give up and expatriate, preferably somewhere tropical and beachy. On the other hand, we find it grotesquely fascinating like a really gruesome car crash, and sometimes it’s just  too hard to look away. But in these crazy times, when some members of Congress refuse to publicly admit that the President is a citizen, it’s refreshing to have Ed Rendell use a little straight talk. You said it perfectly Ed, these people are fucking nuts. Deal with it, Pennsyltucky.
