Captain Freeshit: Win A Pair Of Passes To All Three Days At The Philadelphia Folk Festival!
It’s about that time of year again, when the door begins to close on summer, and a young man’s fancy turns to thoughts of wandering out into a field of banjos, patchouli, and the deep, abiding sense that Baby Boomers had something more righteous and true than our generation will ever know. (Fun fact: This is 100% true. Sorry.) And so it is that the 48th Annual Folk Festival is upon us, this Friday through Sunday. And while the lineup has a lot to endorse it — ReBirth Brass Band, The Decemberists, Fraction Theory, Iron & Wine, Justin Townes Earle, Marissa Nadler, Slo-Mo featuring Mic Wrecka, West Philadelphia Orchestra, The Low Anthem, The Del McCoury Band, The Derek Trucks Band and many, many more — this year, we’re in search of something else: Vibe sherpas. You know, older heads whose levels of mellow, peaceable auras could literally crush you with the wave of a hand. For years, we’ve been hearing tell of the elaborate tailgate/camping scene at the Folk Fest, a kind of mobile human safari wherein peace is observed, music is shared, and everywhere, there are vibes. Good ones. And it would seem that the photos do not lie. And because we know it’s been a rough summer — a brutal, sometimes ugly one, with bad chakras all over the place — we want you to go. For all three days. And we can make that happen right now. To enter to win, email ihopeiwin[at]philebrity[dot]com with “VIBE SHERPAS” in the subject header. You’ll automatically be subscribed to the forthcoming new Philebrity Reader weekly newsletter and win chances for other exclusive free stuff. We’ll pick a winner overnight and let you know. Note: While passes are good for all three days of the festival, they do not automatically include a camping space. For that, check out more info here.
