Right now, Vice President Joe Biden (pictured) is over in the Mayor’s Reception Room at City Hall with Mayor Michael Nutter, Guvs Rendell & Corzine & The One From Delaware and bunch of other people who like to hold big checks to announce a big juicing from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act coming our way. Don’t get too excited, Mr. & Mrs. Unemployo, it’s just that they’re gonna stop some cops from getting laid off. And it’s not a bad deal, either: According to KYW, Philadelphia will be able to hold onto 50 police officers that might have otherwise been laid off; Uncle Sam will take care of them for three years as long as the city promises to pay for a fourth year. Hopefully, Biden will say something awesome like he usually does.
