Mayor Nutter Praises Local Mom-And-Pops Such As Comcast

Comcast rolled out a brand-spanking-new fancy Internet speed (right here in Philadelphia!) to let everyone do their beep-boop-bap-boop much faster, to the delight of … uh … you! The blog reader!  Mayor Nutter was quick to praise fawn all over the company, saying “We are proud of hometown companies like Comcast that enrich our lives through their innovation and investment.”  Ah yes, and proud we are of those tiny hometown-companies staying afloat in this terrible business climate!  And for the low low price of $139.85 per month, you too can enjoy the “the Extreme 50 tier of 50 Mbps,” whatever the hell that means. We’re also noticing a shift in the Comcast argot, where the word “wideband” is replacing “broadband,” because broadband, as you know, IS NOT ENOUGH. After the recent Comcast-Verizon War Of The Roses, maybe this new-fangled internet doohickey will bring a new era of peace in Philadelphia, where we will all remain serfs in the greater Comcast fiefdom.
