This Just In: Leonard Cohen At The Spectrum Oct. 22
I cannot tell a lie: When Leonard Cohen played the Academy of Music back in May, I cried real tears at the beauty of it all. It was very embarrassing, seeing as how I was seated on the same row as every other rock critic in town. Rock critics aren’t supposed to cry. Even if it is at the sweeping beauty that is hearing the simultaneously Sexiest Man In The World and Most Godlike Genius You’ll Ever Probably Be In The Same Room As run through his catalog like it ain’t no thing, and we’re all just friends hanging out in the cosmic living room. Seeing as how everyone should have this experience once in their lives — sans Philly rock critic cabal, of course — Field Commander Cohen will be back in town, at The Spectrum of all places (!!!), on Thursday, October 22. Tickets go on sale August 10th. If you miss him this time around, there is something seriously wrong with you, and I hope that when you die, they seat you in the rock critics’ aisle. Right next to Dan DeLuca.

Amazing news, but the thought of Cohen playing the Spectrum in strange and fascinating. The tailgating should be something else.
