Brain Trust: Anybody Seeing A Massive Taxi Driver Protest ‘Round 30th Street?
A reader tells us: “Someone just came into the office talking about some massive taxi protest on Market between 31st and 32nd, I believe.” Anybody seeing this? Or is this one of those things, to quote Jimmy The Cab Driver, where “It’s like going crazy when you’re already nuts.”
Update: More info: Taxi drivers are protesting a rash of PPA ticketing and, of course, credit card payments. Noon edition of Action News carried it, not on the web yet.

At least they’re not hanging in the financial district. At least once a week we get to hear people protesting about bs in the Middle East. I always suggest they go to DC or the United Nations. They get a bit lazy though :(

There was a taxi protest. Market Street was swamped with taxis that were not accepting passengers. They beeped and blocked the side streets as much as they could as they made their way to City Hall. I heard it had something to do with tickets…

According to Action News they are protesting parking ticket hikes and revenue being withheld from credit card fares. And a few other things that don’t stick out in my mind.
I’m just glad I have an explanation for the helicopter I heard circling outside. Without actually having to go outside.
