Folks, if you make it to one Philebrity Salon this summer, make it tonight. DJ Pasta comes to us by way of our friends at Park The Van Records down in New Orleans; he’s currently touring the East Coast, and we snuck him tonight as he makes his way from D.C. to NYC (NYC readers: he’ll be at Motor City, Beauty Bar and Home Sweet Home the next three nights). Pasta specializes in what the people of The Big Easy call “Swamp Pop”: That 50s-era intersection of soul, doo-wop, jazz, and New Orleans sound that is nothing but fun.
