Phashionista: Wearing Your Heart On Your Sleeve, And Around Your Wrist

jacvanek· Finding it hard to say what you really feel? With Jac Vanek’s “statement bracelets”, you can let the world know what you think without saying a word. Vanek’s bracelets are on the rise, and collaborations with pop-punk bands All Time Low, Cobra Starship, and Push Play have put Jac on the map. Scenesters, despite the fact that they hate being labeled, flock to her tent at Warped Tour and drop $10 a piece on her black and white rubber bracelets that have boldfaced words on them like “legit,” “brutal,” “lurker.” Jac’s bracelets can be seen gracing the wrists of pop-punk band members in almost every photo and if you aren’t wearing one, well you just aren’t “in the scene.” We’re pretty sure there’s a statement bracelet about that somewhere around here. trickgotags· Another soon-to-be fashion icon, UArts graphic design student Matt Trigaux, is clearly forming an empire. Started out of his then-freshman dorm room, TrickGo Clothing, a play on his last name, is a collection of custom printed t-shirts that are seen all over Philadelphia, and not just on UArts students. Read up on Matt Trigaux on his sidekick Gab’s blog. P.S. you definitely want to be invited to their annual TrickGo parties. [TrickGoClothing]
