Welp, Jacko’s already in the ground – sans brain, mind you, and let us not even ponder the significance of that — but KYW 1060 is not letting the story go gently into that night. After all, there’s still a lot of stupid shit left for people to say about MJ, and trust us, competition has been stiff. And so we get this piece, in which KYW mistakes any restaurant that tuned its TVs into the memorial coverage yesterday (newsflash: it was on every channel) and anyone who tuned into the radio to hear Michael Jackson (it was all anyone was playing) and any street vendor (who’ve been selling illegal Jacko gear since the day he died) as “Philadelphians mourning Jacko locally.” Finally, Hadas Kuznits found a real-life Jacko memorial, at the Uptown Theater in North Philly, whereupon it was revealed to KYW by an unidentified man that:

“Michael was the closest thing to a family member that I’ve never met, personally.”

Jackson, pictured here in what we now believe to be the original inspiration for the “Gayby” bit from Brüno, was unavailable for comment. Obviously.
