Michael Jackson Memorial T-Shirts Providing Much-Needed Boost To Local Economy

Whether it’s the guy who you also buy bootleg DVDs from, or the kids at Print Liberation, it would seem that MJ’s last loving gift to this recession-logged world would be his own image, unlicensed and reproduced on thousands and thousands of t-shirts. You know, just like in the 1980s. Personally, though, we think the above tee from CrucialBrutal says it all and better still, does so without fear of intellectual property recriminations.

So far, I haven’t seen a single t-shirt that’s been done well, or with justice to MJ. The Print Liberation one was the worse offender.
I’m working on one right now myself, and I don’t plan on taking a cent personally for it, give any and all profits to charity. Capitalizing on a death, especially so soon… that’s pretty sad.

I am astounded at the turn around on these shirts. Were the t-shirt peddlers somehow in the know?

…and the Jackson family agree$$ with you.

@Allan Smithee – LOL! True, true! Then again, when it comes to handling estates and dealing with the lost of a close one, I can kinda understand their reaction. Joe isn’t doing himself any favors with the plugging of his new record label, and he’s basically said, “Yeah, I’m going to exploit and profit from his death as much as possible.”
Really sad….

Speaking of cashing in, has anyone seen the half-MJ, half-elvis monstrosity that “artist” Perry Milou was selling in rittenhouse square on Saturday? I wish I had my camera with me.
