Noontime Nuggetz: Kenn Kweder & The Secret Kids, 1978, Evening Magazine

We can say without hesitation that this might be the greatest Noontime Nugget ever run. It’s hard to imagine how much of a stir Kenn Kweder (and, back in the day, his band, The Secret Kids) caused in Philly in the late 1970s. This clip proves it. Shot at The Hot Club (now the home of Ten Stone), Kweder mugs like the Marc Bolan of Southwest Philly. Oh, ancient days of Philly punk, how we long for you.

Ah, the Hot Club. Sixteen in ’79, and somehow allowed in the door to see Bruce Woolley and the Camera Club.
