We cannot tell a lie: We were initially asked to be interviewed on camera for this CBS3 piece on Arthur Kade, but we kinda blew it off, due to things like living actual lives that do not involve “The Journey.” Part of why we didn’t quite follow through on setting up an interview time was obvious — imagine having the website you worked on for five years suddenly, in one instant, be branded as the last word on Arthur Kade — but another part of the rationale might not have been so obvious: In a town full of infuriatingly dumb local news broadcasts, CBS3 is hands-down the fear-mongeringly stupidest in the bunch. But CBS3 correspondent Nicole Brewer (pictured here wearing a Used Wigs tee) would seem to be one of those brave souls intent on screwing the system from within, regularly filing stories about Philly’s Internet/tech scene that might suggest to a person, presuming they were in a torture chamber in which the only news they could get was from CBS3, that something else might be beyond the horizon clouded by crime blotters and fears about how YOUR children are in IMMINENT danger! As a result, her Kade piece lays it out pretty plainly, and tells you much of what you already know: Kade is a giant piece of shit who is more interesting not for who he is, but for why and how he is. But here’s the capper: In a wonderful flash of inspiration, Brewer flips the script and is now running a poll asking women to rate Kade on his own scale. As of this writing, a whopping 73% rate him a rock bottom “1.” On the other hand, 5% rate Arthur a “10,” and really, that’s all he’d need to perpetuate his need to spread his foul semen over the bottle-service lounges of Philly. That’s the thing about “screwing the system from within”: It never really works.
