Aw Man, There’s An A.D. Amorosi FESTIVAL

Music critic for the City Paper, the Philadelphia Inquirer and a contributor for every major music publication in the country – a.d. has been the “voice” of the Philly music scene for close to two decades. On june 13th he takes over the programming at the Piazza to present a potpourri of messy drag cabaret-tronica, synth-plop, Afro-punk, perf-art prissiness and saucy skullduggery often stripped-down but never ever stripped bare.
Guests Include:
eNedles Jones & Skinny Johnny’s Technophobes
DJ/VJ Richard Wexler aka Large Marge on turntables and Jumbotron
The Baptist Preachers
The Lemon Treasures
Stephen Bluhm
El Malito
The Dani Mari Band
And
Films from Scott Johnson and Beth Kellner (“The Marshalls Season 3″ and “Electrowoman & Dyna Gyrl”)
There’s so much that is beautifully, wonderfully, awesomely wrong with this that we’ll just leave it alone. If this is your bag, baby — and lorrrrrd, how we’d love to know just whose bag this is — more info here.

twice now in my life now (at National Mechanics, both times) i’ve been to events where at some point “needles jones” ended up “performing” and i can tell you i will never again put myself into that proxiity for any reason. the fact that this dude champions and is apparently friends with this pretend-trainwreck tells me his maturity and iq are on a lower level than i will ever be ok sharing space with. so in summary, good luck with yr gig A.D. but no thanks.

Obviously, Philebs is a fan of The Lemon Treasures. I’m suprised that Stephen Bluhm doesn’t get more love around here, as he seems like he’d be something Joey would like, but I’ve been wrong about these things before.

All these bands blow, but Count Chocula rules.

I think it’s funny that Philebrity is reporting on Amorosi-palooza now. They’ve been advertising it for the past two weeks.

my mistake. the clusterf*ck of comedians, linguists(?) and performance artists at National Mechanics must be a totally different bag.
