Today, Mayor Nutter released the following statement in response to the ruling by Judge Albert W. Sheppard of the Court of Common Pleas which orders the Eagles to pay the City of Philadelphia $8 million, resolving one phase of this long-standing litigation. The court also indicated it would determine the second phase of the case, the amount due from the City to the Eagles because of a cancelled pre-season game, in the next few weeks.

“I’m so pleased that today’s favorable Court ruling has resolved a key part of this long-standing lawsuit between the City and the Eagles and I appreciate the hard work on all sides. I am also hopeful that the judge will rule shortly in the last final phase of the case so that this entire matter can reach a final conclusion.”
