Musical Rumblings: Today’s Vibe

>>> That would be the Photon Band‘s “Back Down To Earth” providing the soundtrack to Free People‘s Summer ’09 “look” video, and one thousand times yes to the vibe on this. If you want more where that came from, check out the Photon Band’s next gig on July 24th with Brother JT at Johnny Brenda’s, where they’ve promised to play their epic, album-side-long track, “Alone On The Moon,” in its entirety. [MySpace/FreePeople/Rhapsody]
>>> And we’ve got an addendum to our Philadelphia Folk Fest post from a few weeks back: The Decemberists have been added as Saturday’s headliners. The Derek Trucks Band (closing Sunday night’s Martin Guitar Stage), Heartless Bastards, Austin Lucas, Kerri Powers, Shannon Lambert-Ryan and RUNA, as well as locals the West Philadelphia Orchestra and Burning Bridget Cleary have also been added.
>>> And finally, ouch: Freeway scores a miserable 4.7 on the ‘Fork. Freeway, say goodbye to the annoying backpacker/Haverford College part of your fanbase. You’re pretty broken up about it, I’m sure. [Pitchfork]

Where does it tell you who is playing each day for the Folk Festival? is it someplace obvious and I’m missing it?
