Philebrity’s 5th Annual Belle & Sebastian Dance Party Update: We Are Getting Ready

Big question: What is the song ‘Tigermilk’???” We don’t know, but by gum, if we can track it down by Saturday, you’ll be hearing it.

Just a quick, friendly reminder: This Saturday, June 6th is Philebrity’s Fifth Annual Belle & Sebastian Dance Party at National Mechanics. If you’ve never been, and you’re even a casual fan of B&S, mark your calendar and join us for this night, which is easily pretty much our favorite event each year. It’s a sweaty, drunken mess of friends that over and again has exposed the great lie concerning the music of Belle & Sebastian: It’s got a great beat, and you really can dance to it. All night long. We’ll have God Help The Girl giveaways, admission is free, and the music? The music is fantastic.

    You can find the song Tigermilk on the Fans Only DVD playing somewhere and on bootleg concert recordings. That’s pretty much it, I think.

    @Larry: Best I can recall, you are a kilt-wearing metal fan who’s never kissed a girl. If we may rely on stereotypes alone, it would seem that YOU would listen to Belle & Sebastian. And, of course, many others. Present company included.

    Why do I have a feeling that at this very moment Steven Wells is setting up a puppet account on Ourspace, hoping to build enough cred by 8:30 pm on June 6 so that blasting “let’s do up 3rd and Market, there’s a dance party!” will produce a happening that will completely justify his immigration across the pond?
