Philebrity Inky Boycott Threatening To Become All-Out Total Philadelphia Media War

dyeface

OK, this one needs a little parsing, so let’s go: David Dye, of course, is the Philadelphia broadcasting legend behind World Cafe on WXPN — on their fund drive right now, donate ‘em if you got ‘em — and David has our eternal love and respect, even if he does get a little shoot-the-messenger-y with us sometimes (like now). See, David is married to Inky columnist Karen Heller — for the record, probably the only one in the bunch we actually enjoy(ed) reading from time to time — and David’s (very much appreciated) love for Philebs has got to cause some friction here and there, especially when Dye’s obvious priority is the further employ and happiness of his loved ones, which, for the record, we’d like to see as well, just in case there was any confusion about that. (Sorry to make waves, David.) Amy Rosenberg is an Inky scribe, and frequent Philebrity commenter, who sometimes gets VERY ANGRY with people on here (sometimes). Joey Sweeney, of course, you all know, and Nicole Yates is a yobslobbering troll who’s still mad that we made fun of some hilarious chainwallet band she manages allllll the way back when we did Philly’s Top 10 MySpace Sluts of 2005, now obviously trying to worm her way into David’s affections because, you know, there’s really a space for some fucking Creed cover band on XPN’s playlist in 2009. Way to hold a grudge, sludge.

Something tells us this is gonna get worse before it gets better.

I can’t believe I am actually agreeing with David Dye I normally find him to be an annoying know it all. He also is 100 if you didn’t notice

I like Philebrity but you hipster doofuses do have it out for the Inquirer and DN. By saying you won’t link to Inquirer articles I guess that also means you won’t write about Brian Tierney, Dan Gross, or write about anything else you read about in the Inquirer or Philly.com, since that would have the effect of bringing attention and/or giving credibility to them. Would you have gotten the idea to do the boycott if Will Bunch didn’t blog about John Yoo on Philly.com? My guess is you stick to your word and really boycott the Inquirer your posts will dry up since you get most of your story ideas from mainstream media like Philly.com
