Newly Dubbed Single Most Awful/Awesome Movie In The World Coming To Philly
It’s hard to begin a post about Tommy Wiseau’s The Room. Incredible, heartfelt, superb in every way, a film with, by its own admission, “the passion of Tennessee Williams” – The Room is almost beyond words, beyond description. Suffice to say, this amazingly terrible film is something very close to the hearts of many so-bad-it’s-great film buffs. Because of this, it is with great pride and great excitement that we at Philebrity can now bring you the news that this film, which has been embraced at sold-out screenings in Los Angeles, San Fancisco, New York City, and maybe other places who knows, is now coming to Philadelphia!
On May 30th, The Room, which has been gaining an incredible cult following over the past few months, is being screened at Space 1026 at 10th and Arch Streets. For freaking free! This is absolutely an event that cannot be missed. Seriously. We will make no attempt to describe the film itself, other than to say that we promise it will keep you laughing and elated the entire time it is on screen. In the words of David Wain, one of The Room’s many hugely hilarious celebrity fans who have introduced the New York screenings (along with David Cross and Jon Benjamin), “Just watch this. Just watch.” There will be spoon throwing, there will be football tossing, there will be incredible amounts of amazing.
After the jump, a taste. Just a sweet taste.
