Popped Fest Bounces Back As Part Of Second Street Festival In June
When we last cast our eyes in the general direction of Alexis Rosenzweig’s Popped Festival, things were looking pretty grim. But news finally broke this morning that the Fest has a new lease on life, as part of a massive Second Street Festival in Northern Liberties on Saturday, June 20th. That fest in NoLibs will be a massive effort unto itself — taking up a large portion of Second that cuts through the neighborhood (we’ve been hearing conflicting reports of Girard straight through to Spring Garden, or simply Poplar to Spring Garden), featuring over 60 vendors and more. And it’s sounding like Popped will be at the heart of it. Among the acts confirmed so far: Benjy Ferree, The Blood Feathers, Rock Central Plaza, Magnet City Kids, The Chimeras and Heavy Hands. And, full disclosure: There will likely be a “Philebrity Stage” somewhere in the middle of all this as well. As always, details are forthcoming. Stay tuned…

Popped is closing down second street for this bill… I’m all for closing down the street. But christ, have the dam bands play in liberties lands park or the new piazza.
Popped should have learned from last year. Never have a stage and concert go-errs on asphalt . You get burned twice as hard.
