We’re hearing right now that stalwart Philly cinephiles TLA Video are downsizing today in a response to major downturns in both the home video and cinema markets. We know of at least one layoff today for sure (though we suspect more), and we are also hearing that TLA Releasing USA, the company’s film releasing wing, is being put up for sale. In addition, it seems like TLA will also be shutting down one of its DVD sales divisions, citing stiff competition from Amazon.
