Reminder: Philebrity Salon Starts Tonight!
Won’t you join us tonight at 9PM at 700 Club for the birth of Philebrity Salon? In addition to being a sweet, mellow, low-key, twice-a-month hang, it really is what the flyer says it is: A place where people can meet up, gab about what they’re working on and, at midnight, enjoy twenty minutes of fine, fine public address — it could be singing or music-playing, it could be speechifying or reading, it could be comedy, it could be juggling. For the premiere edition, we’ve lined up NoLibs village troubadour Mike Simons, notable for his catalog of songs written for friends, his exquisite guitar talents and his mastery of the Portuguese tongue. The rest of the time, we’ll be spinning heavy jazz sides and Tropicalia. You’re gonna love it. Oh and burnsie, didn’t you get the memo. We’re fascists now, not socialists. Apparently you and your “homies” ceaseless use of the word socialism has rendered its effect powerless so the ante has been upped. Although, I full well expect fascism to be worthless by the end of the summer. Is satanism next? Vampirism? The mind boggles!
