Imagine how awesome “Seeking Solutions With Suzanne” would look on this.

This Saturday morning, we were awoken by a phone call from Bart Blatstein, that went something like this: “You gotta get down here! The TV’s been installed and the cable guy was just here! You have to see this!” Blatstein is not a man given to making phone calls he doesn’t feel like making, so we could tell he was pretty excited, and once the crust was cleared from our eyes, we realized that we wasn’t just talking about a TV, he was talking about the massive LED screen we were told about when we first broke news on the Piazza at Schmidt’s back in January. And what we saw when we got over there was pretty amazing: A 26′x16′ next-gen HD LED screen, made by Daktronics. And “jumbotron” is perhaps a misnomer — on this jawn, the pixels are apparently 16 millimeters apart, which is much closer than what you’d see on the jumbo at, say, Citizen’s Bank Park. So what will be done with this $400K monstrosity? Events for this summer at the Piazza @ Schmidt’s are currently being planned — including some Philebrity concert-type events — and Blatstein says that the LED will be blasting out everything from independent film to sporting events over the summer and beyond. And yes, we’ve already started plotting a way to play some Wii Golf on this jawn. We’ll let you know what’s up once we figure out where the hell to put the sensor bar.
