PAFA & UArts, Thine Chariot Awaits

We’ve been hearing tell of planned responses to Tyler School Of Art‘s Trojan Horse Declaration of War Stunt ever since the horses were delivered to opposing schools last week. Here, then is the Pennsylvania Academy Of Fine Arts and University of Arts‘ response: A very, very classy chariot. Art Institute, the ball is your brokedick court. More pics and correspondence after the jump.

Who’s up for constructing a Trojan Arctic Splash and taunting No. Libs?

That plaster model looks like one of the figures of Tom Green’s parents which he placed on his parents’ lawn in a compromising position back in 99/00.

whichever school made the chariot wins. the violent one isn’t good under any sense of the imagination.

to all the students in this art school “war” i hate all of you… I’m a art school grad and i actually landed a job in the creative industry. In the real word work hard, talent and the ability to not go insane is tough to come by. I pay my own bills and look forward to a career in this industry but its because of shit like this that the everyday person looks at our industry like a bunch of kids in a classroom coloring pretty pictures when in actuality we are the backbone in keeping most business afloat. ALL OF YOU should be forming alliances with each other. Networking and learning different techniques as well as bouncing ideas of one another instead of this pissing contest of a “war” of which school is better than the other one. GET OVER YOURSELVES!!! YOU ARE NOT PRETTY INDIVIDUAL SNOWFLAKES OR GODS GIFT TO BUILDING THINGS OUT OF FUCKING CARDBOARD!!!

to dasvooning:
this isn’t a bitch fight or a “my school’s better than your school” stunt. if you aren’t involved, why comment like you know what’s going on?
this was initiated as a means to bridge the gap between schools, and start working with each other. it’s people like you who make negative assumptions and perpetuate your crap.
get yourself a grip!

Man, It’s all in good fun. Its supposed to open up a conversation between the art schools. And the reconstructed cardboard is totally Duchamp. Stop being bitter.
Pafa made the chariot. The article was worded a little funny when it came to that. And yes, it does look a bit like the Tom Green statues.

p.s. the PAFA chariot is SO GOOD

Gotta agree with number9, this is obviously a playful way to network and form alliances. I know the critical thinking coursework requirements at most art schools aren’t much these days, but I’ve never seen something fly over someone’s head as high as this stunt sailed over dasvooning’s grindstone pushing dome.

If you want to start conversations with other art schools, throw a keg party or organize live events where people can see everybody’s art. I don’t know why I constantly hear the art schools dissing each other, but in a way it’s sad. I think more pranks that could get people fired are in order…

Umm, trainwreck and dasvooning, have y’all NEVER seen “Bring It On”? Don’t you understand the core principles of BYOI (yes, Bring Your Own IT)?
Let us explain:
1. Two or more very similar but opposing forces, with often equal but somewhat stylistically varied talents, meet.
2. Said forces each secretly recognize the other’s mad skillz, and hide said recognition in a bit o’ shit talkin’.
3. Shit talkin’ continues until one force suggests to the other that perhaps, PERHAPS, it needs to be brought. The hidden gem of this suggestion is that both parties are internally verrrry curious what the opposing force will bring, and secretly expect to be verrry impressed.
4. The shit talkin’ goes on while each force summons the powers of their mad skillz into creating a display that, while coolly arranged and oriented to disparage the opponent, is unarguably off the gawdamn hook. This is what we call, Bringin’ It.
5. After it has been brought, it’s not always easy to choose the victor. Thang is, that is not what matters and each force, in their hearts, knows this. What matters is that, in the bringing of IT, everyone has stepped up their game and proven that a bit of healthy competition is good for the spirit and often has inspiring effects.
Please refer to said instructions should you ever be challenged to a Bringing, for if you follow this rules, perhaps, PERHAPS, you will not get served.

Yeah, It’s all in good fun. Its supposed to open up a conversation between the art schools. Like that friend you have who has really bad breath but everyone is afraid to tell them. Someone should fill one of the horses with deodorant that goes off once inside Tyler.. ya stinkin’ hippies! haha!
