Street Makes Shocking Confession Regarding Nutter Admin: He Wouldn’t Be Doing It That Way
Things have been eerily quiet lately from the camp of one Former Mayor John Street who, since the transfer of his office, has receded into memory faster than an episode of How I Met Your Mother. But His Shamefulness did pop up in a little item in yesterday’s Inky, who spotted him grumbling and shuffling his feet loudly when he surprisingly showed his face at Mayor Nutter‘s budget address last week. Afterward, Street felt the glory of the City Hall reporter’s throng one more time, whereupon he delivered the following remarks:
“I probably would not have made the same choices.”
“[The Nutter administraion is] absorbed with transparency and the Sunshine Law [...] It’s difficult to find out what people will or won’t do if you can’t sit down with them in a private, off-the-record manner.”
Which is true, when you think about it: Even in our own experiences here at Philebrity, we’ve noticed a real difference in negotiating deals and talking with sources when there’s not a large suitcase full of money on the table that we feign no knowledge of whatsoever, while an FBI bug hums pleasantly in the background. Nutter, this is probably the highest praise you’ve received since entering office. Run with it, dawg.

john street kind of sums up my philly experience. While doing a few good things, like the tearing down of the abandoned homes and getting all the abandoned cars off the streets in certain sections, he was shifty as hell with everything else.
Shit, I don’t even know for sure if he can claim credit to that which I just mentioned.

Thank god he is out of office. Public engagement is exactly what’s needed. Back room deals will always happen but to use is as your primary policy making tool is wrong, wrong, wrong. I wonder what his syllabus looks like?

Really? How I Met Your Mother? That show’s actually good, despite being on CBS.
Swear it.
