Let’s just put it this way: It’s probably easier for any of us now than it was, say 24 hours, to imagine a Philadelphia in which the Metro, that lovable scamp, is the only daily newspaper in Philadelphia. And while all newspapers are losing money right now, the Metro may be the only print publication in town that is not bleeding money like a bitch all over the place right now. (That means you, too, alt-weeklies.) And in fact, news comes today that for whatever losses they are suffering, the Metro may get bought out like any minute now, giving it a fresh injection of cash and maybe, just maybe, JOBS. So, Inky/DN hacks, now might be a good time to stop looking down your noses at poor little Metro. Much like us, it may have already begun to softly dance on your stinky, ridiculous grave.
