Remember when we discovered Constitution Geek Joseph Torsella and instantly hooked him up with Cute Boy Alert status? Well, like many other Cute Boy Alerts, his cuteness and sweetness has only grown. And now it’s about to go man-sized into proper Grown Up Awesome Guy Emergency territory. Yesterday, Torsella filled out paperwork to start raising campaign funds in an effort to head towards the 2010 Democratic nomination and ultimately run against the Great Gazoo of the Republican party, Arlen Specter. We like where this is going. Torsella has mad political chops — in addition to being the mastermind behind the National Constitution Center, he also did a stint as deputy mayor of Philadelphia for policy and planning. And with voters growing increasingly testy with lifelong barnacles of the senate like Specter, Torsella has a much more real chance of making a go of it this time around. (He ran unsuccessfully — but close — for office before against U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz.) So, yes: Joe Torsella. A Cute Boy Alert we can believe in.
