Hey, remember when JC Dobbs was gonna open back up and put the WEIRD and AWESOME back on the east shank of South Street? Well, that happened for like a second, but it all seems to have gone pear-shaped. Even though we have a few listings for ‘em comin’ up and there’s no note on their website, one reader puts it this way, in an email entitled “If a Bar on South Street Closes will anyone Notice?”:

It seems JC Dobbs closed a few weeks ago and aren’t opening until they get a liquor license, so that means never again, right? Do you know anyone who stepped foot in the place after they reopened? I don’t.

Well, we actually did! And it was fun! Great sound, fun staff, and some weird bar deal where you could go to Mako’s Retired Surfer’s Bar (YES!) across the street and get ‘faced real cheap between bands. Only problem is, when we call the number Google has listed for Dobbs’, we get CopaBanana. What? I shit you not. What the shit? Anyone? Hellos?
