Local Comedian’s Heavy Metal Flow Chart Goes Viral, But He’s Still Playing Fergie’s… For Now

Back in September, Philly comedian Doogie Horner ran his flow chart of heavy metal band names (above) on the local comedy blog Comic Vs. Audience. Because life is beautiful and the Internet is weird, the chart has recently gone viral (BoingBoing/Fark/etc.) and now, Doogie is That Guy Who Did That Awesome Chart. (Fans might also want to check out Doog’s Tragedy To Comedy Conversion Chart as well.) But to you, dear Philadelphians, Doogie is That Guy Who Plays Fergie’s On Wednesday. Check him out, but don’t let him near the overhead projector.

I will hereby go on record and say that I believe in the Dooge. I caught his act at Helium last Thursday and I do believe that someday Mr. Horner will get his own Philebrity profile. I think it’s only a matter of time before he leave Philly for something bigger and better.

Seriously… There’s a band named Angel Queef??

I hate metal–greasy kid stuff, but I would go out of my way to see a band named The Cancer Bats.

Really. Apparently someone perceived a market for it.

Doogie and a handful of other hardworking, hilarious people are what make Philadelphia comedy a really great thing to see and a be a part of these days. So says I.

@friendlynerd – Is that really on the chart (I’m too lazy to look closely)? I find it hard to believe there is a metal band named after an occurrence in a Faulkner novel.

@Perfectly Disgraceful: it is, fittingly found under the Faulkner References toward the bottom left.
