Letter From Washington: It’s Insane Down Here, Stay Home

Our friend Chris Gabello just sent us this photo he took yesterday during that insanely overindulgent HBO thing. We’ll have some more Gabello photos over the next day or so, but on a related note: Since Amtrak is booked solid and we have an irrational fear of history-making crowds, Philebrity will be liveblogging Inauguration Day from National Mechanics in Old City; CNN will be on the big screen all day, and happy hour prices apply from opening to close. So if you’re in the area, stop by and give us a hug and hit up that Build Yr Own Bloody Mary Bar with us.

I hate crowds and cold too, I will be reading Philebrity all day tomorrow.

If you look at the CDC stats, Virginia is presently the hardest hit state in the nation for colds and flu. It’s possible that we’re going to see a couple weeks of serious flu activity around here after everyone returns from the inauguration.
Trust me–I’m (not) a doctor.

Johnny Brenda’s will also be showing Inauguration Day on the big screen upstairs.
